  • Mineral Foundation - 4 Key Steps for the Perfect Colour
Mineral Makeup has now more than satisfied all its users. It is a good way to protect the skin and enhance it. It doesn't feel like you are wearing makeup. For a good start, the following 4 steps can help you to find your perfect colour: Step 1 - Determine YourMineral Fooundation/Skin Tone If you do not know your skin tone, you can estimate it with the following information: Pink or Cool: Eyes are typically blue or grey. Hair colour typically blonde, brown or black. Skin has definite blue and pinkish undertones. Cool-toned people look best in colours such as blue, red, pink and purple, or "gem-tones". Usually look best in silver jewelry. In natural light, the colour of the veins on the underside of your wrist are bluish. You can wear a white shirt and it is flattering on you. Neutral: Eyes may be any colour. Hair may be any colour. Skin has unspecifiable undertones, such as pink, olive or yellow. Those with neutral colouring can wear just about any colour clothing and look good. Can wear gold or silver jewelry. Yellow or Warm: Eyes are typically brown, green or hazel. Hair colour typically brown, black, red, auburn, blonde or strawberry blonde. Skin has yellow/orange or olive undertones. Warm-toned people look best in earthy-toned clothing, such as browns, yellows, oranges, yellowish green and ecru. Look best in gold jewelry. In natural light, the colour of the veins on the underside of your wrist are greenish. You are most flattered by an off-white, cream or ecru shirt. Step 2 - Determine Your Mineral Makeup Colour/Skin Shade Not sure of your skin shade? See the following information below: Fair: You have fairest skin, burns very easily and peels, never tans. You may be very blonde and have pale eyes, or have very dark hair and a porcelain complexion. Light: Your skin is pale, and usually burns easily, tans rarely. You might be pale in the winter and have a "healthy glow" in the summer. Medium Light: Those with medium light skin that usually burn first, then tan. Medium: Your skin is of average tone. Skin burns sometimes followed by peeling, tans easily. Medium Dark: You always have colour all year round. Skin rarely burns, tans easily. Dark: Your skin has naturally dark coloured complexions, possibly of Mediterranean or other ethnic descent. You tan very easily and never burn. Darkest: Your skin tone is noticeably dark, and you tan very easily. You may be of African-American, Latin, or Indian descent. Step 3 – Test It During Daytime After learning your own skin tone and shade, the optimal method to test for the ideal colour is to purchase a selection of samples. Apply each shade to your cheek or jaw line during daytime. The correct colour should disappear as it would perfectly compliment your skin. Step 4 – Check It Under Sunlight Once you have done that, go outside to check it under sunlight. As the Titanium Oxide within mineral makeup diffuses and reflects sunlight, you might find the chosen shade much darker or lighter outdoors, adjustments then need to be made accordingly. Further suggestions – * It is possible to mix the colours in various combinations, creating ideal shades that are perfect for you. * Using one colour as a base, add the 2nd colour to highlight selected regions. * You can adjust the proportions of each colour as your skin shade changes throughout the seasons. We hope you have found this useful. Copyright © JTshop.co.uk since 2007 All Rights Reserved.
  • Tips on applying Mineral Makeup
Mineral Foundation Our wonderful lightweight mineral powder is amazing as a concealer, powder and foundation. Only start with a little on a clean, dry face. Make sure any moisturiser you use is absorbed into the skin before applying mineral makeup. We suggest using the residue of the foundation in the lid of the container to dip into. Simply tap off any excess powder from your brush before application. As a spot concealer, simply wet the tip of a small makeup brush and dip ever so slightly into the lid of the container and apply to face. As a powder, for a light to medium coverage, apply to face with a soft and fluffy powder brush. As a foundation, in order to achieve a medium to heavy coverage, we suggest using a foundation brush or sponge. Applying with a damp sponge will give you still darker, heavier and more intense coverage. You may keep adding layers until you've reached your desired coverage. If you really enjoy liquid foundations, our little trick is to mix your daytime moisturizer to a little bit of the powder and blend to the desired colour and consistency. If you have oily skin, try mixing in a dab of water instead of moisturizer. Mix first, DO NOT apply the powder to a freshly (and still wet) moisturized face. You will get a cakey look. Mineral Blush The dazzling colour of our blush is a perfect compliment to your cheekbones. Use a soft, fluffy brush and knock off any excess powder. Then, depending on the look you want to achieve, apply the blush directly to the areas of your cheeks you would like to accentuate. Because it is chemical-free,our Blush can be applied to the eyes and lips as well. Mineral Bronzer Just a touch of our silky smooth Bronzer will wake up a tired or pale complexion and give you a warm, soft glow. It is sun protection all in one, due to using Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. After your foundation application, apply the Bronzer with a large powder brush to the areas you would like accentuated. Our Bronzer can double as a face powder if it matches your skin tone. It can also be used for eye shadow, all-over face shimmer, lip shimmer etc. Add some to your favourite lotion and apply for an all over body glow! Mineral Setting Powder Setting Powder is a loose and essential product for every woman at any age. It extends the life of any foundation throughout the day and supplies a smudge resistance. If you want to have full coverage that is long lasting and doesn’t “slide” off your face before the end of the day, this setting powder is for you. This extremely light and silky powder will aid in oil absorption and give your face a smooth, matte finish, along with a slight sun protection. Can even be used as a face powder for a woman who needs very light coverage. It is chemical-free. If it is being used with mineral foundation or liquid foundation, it enhances and adds silkiness to your skin's healthy appearance. Apply over face after your foundation. Apply a small amount to your brush and spread evenly over your entire face in outward motions making sure to blend. Can also be used alone. Mineral Eye Shadow/Liner Our eye shadows are hypoallergenic and long lasting. To be applied dry for a more subtle colour or wet for a bolder look. They do not cake in the creases or in corner of the eyes. Can also be used as lip liners, nail polish, blush and body shimmers. To apply the eye shadow as an eyeliner simply wet a thin eye lining brush (or even a lip brush) and dip into the lid of the eye shadow container. With a steady hand, guide the brush over the top of your eyelid, right where your lashes meet your skin. To simply accent your eyes with a 'natural' look, softly brush a neutral tone over the lid. Though eye shadow applications may change with the fashions, a good guideline is 3 different colours applied to your lid. What we suggest is taking 3 complimentary colours. Softly brush the lightest colour over your entire lid up until the brow bone. Then take the darker colour and line your eyes with a wet brush. Take a soft dry eye shadow brush and create a sideways 'V' by gently brushing along the eyeliner from the inner part of your eye to the outer, and turning and going back towards the inner but in the crease of your eye. This not only smudges the harsh line of the eyeliner, but also gives your eye some depth. Then get your middle colour and softly brush that over the lid of the eye. Mineral Yellow Concealer Perfect for hiding those dark areas around the eye prior to applying your mineral makeup. Used to conceal bluish bruises, under-eye circles and mild red tones on the face. Unscented and all natural. Simply dabbing the concealer on with a smaller shading brush or a clean fingertip, feather the edges and then apply the loose minerals on top. Mineral White Concealer Perfect highlighter to strongly define areas, and can be used to lighten up one of our coloured concealers. Unscented and all natural. Simply dabbing the concealer on with a smaller shading brush or a clean fingertip, feather the edges and then apply the loose minerals on top. Mineral Pink Concealer Used to normalize yellow-colored imperfections such as sallow complexions and yellow bruises. It can also help conceal very dark under-eye circles and dark spots on bronze skin tones. Unscented and all natural. Simply dabbing the concealer on with a smaller shading brush or a clean fingertip, feather the edges and then apply the loose minerals on top. Mineral Neutral Concealer Used to cover the imperfection without having to wear foundation. Unscented and all natural.Simply dabbing this skin toned concealer on with a smaller shading brush or a clean fingertip and feather the edges. Mineral Green Concealer Used to neutralize red tones on the skin. Perfect for covering blemishes, rosacea and port wines stains. Unscented and all natural. Simply dabbing the concealer on with a smaller shading brush or a clean fingertip, feather the edges and then apply the loose minerals on top.
  • What does Mineral Makeup have to offer?
Skin that is flawless and youthful looking is what most women desire. Unfortunately, these desires are often thwarted by the lure of advertisements for traditional cosmetics that are widespread. Mineral cosmetics offer benefits, but their acceptance is not overwhelming. Reason being, people associate mineral cosmetics with something that is substandard. In the case of cosmetics, it is the general thought that an individual does not obtain the coverage and 'look' that they want. In this article we will take a look at mineral cosmetics and what they have to offer. Mineral and natural cosmetics are often considered synonymous. Although there are similarities between the two, they actually refer to two different types of products for the skin. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a product that is 'natural' contains ingredients that are derived from plants or animals. It also has determined that any products that contain stabilizers (additives) of color that are derivatives of earth are considered mineral cosmetics. An example of an ingredient that is added to mineral cosmetics is titanium oxide. This additive is generally added to face powders to create the various shades of color. One of the great benefits of mineral cosmetics is that they are resistant to water. Unlike traditional cosmetics that 'cake' and 'run' in water, mineral cosmetics cling to your skin, maintaining the flawless skin tone you want to display. Another benefit of using mineral cosmetics is that you protect your body from harmful chemicals. When you use mineral cosmetics you use those elements that are natural to your body and that create a natural look. Traditional cosmetics contain chemicals that are not natural to your body and that may clog your pores and cause blemishes, or worse, result in you developing cancer. The fewer chemicals that you introduce to your body, the more you reduce your risk of cancer. Another benefit associated with using mineral cosmetics is that you actually help your skin to remain healthy. The natural ingredients in mineral cosmetics have a healing effect that can help to improve skin conditions such as skin damage and acne. Dermatologists generally forbid an individual suffering from these skin conditions to wear traditional cosmetics because they can make the conditions worse. Mineral cosmetics also provide the skin with natural moisture. If you have very dry skin you still may want to use a moisturizer. The two downsides of mineral cosmetics are cost and availability. The process to obtain and add the necessary ingredients to mineral cosmetics is costly. The Internet does provide some release in the sense that the companies that advertise there do not have to worry about overhead so that they can charge better prices. Your best bet of locating these products is to find a health food store. These stores generally carry a variety of mineral cosmetics and have knowledgeable staff available to assist you if you should have any questions. If you do not live near a health food store, you can perform a search online for companies that sell mineral cosmetics and request a catalog.
  • Is Mineral Makeup a Natural Acne Cure?
Mineral makeup may offer new hope for acne sufferers. Because mineral makeup has several unique qualities not offered in any other makeup product that make it ideal for helping cure acne. To understand how mineral makeup can cure your acne it is necissary to look at the seven causes of acne: 1. Genetics. Sadly, nothing can change your genetics. If your parents had acne as teenagers there is a good chance that you will too. 2. Hormones. During adolesence, hormones called androgens become active and stimulate oil glands in your skin, increasing oil production. This, in turn, clogs pores, causing pimples and blackheads. 3. Stress. Although stress doesn't actually cause acne, it can add to the problem by affecting hormones. 4. Diet. Many times what you eat has been shown to cause acne. Most of the time acne is an adverse reaction your body has to a food allergy. 5. Washing your face too often. This can irritate the skin making acne worse. 6. Medications. Many medications can cause acne or make an existing condition worse. Read labels or talk to your paharmacist to find out if acne is a side effect. 7. Using greasy skin care products and oily cosmetics. Most makeup falls into this category. While these are the casuse of acne it is important to remember that acne is ultimately a result of bacteria growing in clogged pores. Bacteria is organic and thus cannot grow or multiply without the presence of water. This is where mineral makeup plays an almost magical role in curing acne. Mineral makeup is made of natural minerals derived from the earth, these minerals are not only inorganic but they are also extremely resistant to water. They actually act as a shield on your face keeping bacteria feeding moisture away from your pores. Mineral makeup is not soluable in water so even if you put water directly on your face the minerals will not be absorbed and the water cannot pass through. Mineral makeup does not clog pores either. Because it is so finely milled during production, the granules are much smaller than your pores. This not only prevents acne from forming, but makes the makeup extremely easy to blend into the skin with a very flawless look and conceals problem areas very well. If you suffer from a break out the finely milled minerals are very effective as disguising it. Because of these and other unique qualities mineral makeup is known througout the world as the skin care makeup and recommended to acne sufferers by dermatologists. Ultimately, it does not matter what the cause of your acne is, without water to feed the bacteria, and something to clog the pores and hold that moisture in acne cannot form or worsen. If you suffer from acne, mineral makeup may end up being your best friend. • How can I use Multi-Tasking Mineral Makeup Pigments?
Playing with pure mineral pigments gives you creative freedom as your own makeup artist as well. Now you can create new colours for use not only on your face but on other parts of your body that you enjoy enhancing with makeup. Instructions 1. Wear the mineral pigment on your lips by combining it with a clear gloss before swiping on lips with a clean finger or a lip brush. You can even use it to set your lipstick; after applying your lipstick as usual, pat a matching color pigment over your lips. You may leave it as is or top with a clear gloss. This works in the same way as a loose powder dusted over foundation does to hold makeup in place. (DON'T use blue colours on lips!) 2. Wet your liner brush and dip in a blush for a lip liner. 3. Add a sprinkle to your body lotion for an all-over glow (better than any bronzer!). 4. Sprinkle some in your leave-in Hair condition (such as gold dust) for sparkling highlights. 5. Create your own nail colors by using a clear polish and the mineral pigments of your choice. You may have to experiment with the ratio of one to the other before you are satisfied with your end results. 6. Take a cleaned mascara wand, dip in a chosen colour, and apply to ‘just applied’ mascara on the tips of the lashes. Go blue or green for a night out! 7. Add just a sprinkle to your daily face moisturizer for an all-over tint. Wonderful for the days-off when you don’t want to put on makeup but don’t want go “bare”. 8. Mix any colour with a wet brush for a ‘sheer’ wash eye colour – stays put and gives a great look. 9. Ever hear of Henna Tattoo’s? Try a liner brush and draw away – stays put and looks great! 10. Wet your liner brush and dip in any eye shadow for a wonderful eyeliner! Copyright © JTshop.co.uk since 2007 All Rights Reserved.
